Incorporated in 1949 and named for its’ slightly elevated town site Highland Beach is a small town of only 1.1 square miles and 3915 residents which grows to 8500 during the winter seasonal months. Highland Beach sits between Boca Raton to the south and Delray Beach to the north. Highland Beach has only one commercial property “Delray Sands” which is a hotel previously known as The Holiday Inn.
There is not a single traffic light in Highland Beach.
